Our courses are open to everyone: foreigners and Italians. There are no
necessary requirements for enrolling on our courses. Lessons can be held
in either Italian or English.
Each student is followed individually, according to their own interests
and level of skill.
In the first part of the course students will
concentrate on drawing, carrying out copies of the Renaissance and Modern
Masters in order to acquire a correct sense of line, stroke and use of
the “chiaroscuro”,
characterized by the Florentine school of the XV and XVI century. The
elements learnt and practiced during the first part of the course will
be useful for the painting part.
In the second part of the course the drawing
carried out will be transferred to canvas and worked with oil colors,
tempera and acrylics. Students will be able to follow Renaissance techniques
and give volume to the painted figures.
The Drawing and Painting course has been designed in order to allow students
to apply their practical skills from the very first lesson.
After having learnt the basic ideas of the use of color and acquired
the techniques for the production of forms and contents, transparency
and opacity through figurative language, the students will pass on to
study Nude Figure drawing and / or Still Life, aimed at understanding
the techniques of composition.
This involved an in-depth focus on the painting and drawing of the human
body, studying the reality. The school teaches the techniques, anatomy,
style, secrets of drawing and painting (oil, tempera, watercolors…)
as well as the complex technology of the materials used by artists through
the centuries.
Open-air excursions are foreseen for more experienced drawing and painting
students.
The school teaches how to develop creativity, approaching art in order
to understand it and enjoy it, adding value to individual choices.
